Basic conditions for traffic

Because of a high population density and the economical structure congested urban areas have a high demand for transport services. The high number of people has to be supplied with goods for their everyday needs, and businesses of the production sector depend on logistic services of high quality. Especially deliveries of small quantities that have to arrive at the receiver's address on time are counted among those. Because of bottle-necks or deviant land utilisation plans the extension of the road network is often not longer possible especially in congested urban areas. To guarantee the supply in the future CargoCap was developed as an alternative. CargoCap transports high-quality goods that are not as sensitive to transport costs as bulk goods, but that make great demands on the speed and the reliability of transport.

CargoCap is therefore suited especially for food, consumer and investment goods like production components, for example and similar goods, as well as parcel and express freight. About 2/3 of all goods of that kind transported in Germany fit into the cargo hold of CargoCap without further breaking of the freight.

To provide a smooth and economic transport these freight groups have been investigated concerning their form of load, and have been classified into economically attractive freight-form of load-combinations. In this connection all goods that are of great importance for the supply of a congested urban area have been taken into account. This investigation of goods serves as a basis for the economic efficiency calculations.
